The Posture of Our Prayer
We want to talk to you about what Yah’s word says about prayer.
First, we would have to ask ourselves “what is the meaning of “prayer” or the Ancient Hebrew word “palal?” The parent root PL literally means to “Speak to Authority.”
In our modern culture, prayer mainly means communication between man and the Most High. The parent root pal has the meaning “fall.” Palal literally means to “fall down to the ground in the presence of one who is in authority to plead a cause.” (ancient-hebrew.org). This word can also mean judgment or self-judgment. Thus the reason why the Son of the Living Elohiym stands in intercession for us as we petition Yahuah, whose seat is in the Kingdom of Heaven. He is our judge and he pleads our case before the living Elohyim. This is why it is so important that we take a look at the posture of our hearts before entering into the Throne Room of the Almighty Yahuah by way of what we know as “prayer” or simply communing with the Father!
However - if we were to look at the word in the Greek it would be “euchre” which describes a wish, desire, prayer, or vow. (Source: weekly.israelbible.center.com) It was originally used to depict a person who made some kind of vow to the Most High (as they put it God) because of some need or desire in his or her life. However, keep in mind that prayers were and still are often sent up to other 'gods' for petitions as well. This is why when we send our petitions or offerings unto the Most High, we have to search our own hearts and make righteous judgments concerning the iniquity that may be in our hearts. This needs to be declared and repented of so that our requests are made known to the correct source of Power and that He hears us. The reason being is because Yahuah has said in His word that He does not hear the prayer of the sinful heart or one that does not obey his Torah. As Isaiah 59:1-2 says in the Halleluyah Scriptures, “Look, the hand of Yahuah has not become too short to save, nor His ear too heavy to hear. But your wickedness has separated you from your Elohiym. And your sins have hidden His face from you, and from him hearing.”
When the children of Yerushalayim were going through a terrible and dreadful drought in the Book of Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) in chapter 14, they were crying before the Almighty to send rain. His response to these people begins in verses 10-12 as follows, “Thus said Yahuah to this people, “So they have loved to wander, they have not refrained their feet, therefore Yahuah does not accept them; he will now remember their iniquity, and punishes their sins. Then Yahuah said to me (Yirmeyahu), do not pray for this people for their good. When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer an ascending smoke offering and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine and by the pestilence."
See my friend, our prayers can be hindered and not even paid attention to by the Most High. Even sometimes, if we come before him without true repentance, this also can bring judgment as seen in this particular passage of scripture. Therefore; no matter how much we hear people say they are praying for certain matters to change, they do not always get the results they desire because of the wickedness that they hold in their hearts and refuse to let them go.
Proverbs 28:9 takes it a bit further and says that “He that turns away his ear from hearing the Torah, even his prayer shall be an abomination.” Whew! We can say that this is not taught to us in the modern day “Christian” churches. They actually teach in a lot of them that the Torah is done away with, but would go to the same so-called “Old Testament” for all the blessings that come with being identified as “Christian.” Not understanding that this entire Book was written to Israel by and to the strangers that also served their Elohiym and sojourned with them. So yes, this is also to the Christian who really loves Yahuah with all their hearts, soul, mind and body and has received his Son as personal Savior over their life.
We want your petitions before the Most High to be made known, heard, and answered. There are three main criteria that must first happen.
We must go with a repentant heart, as outlined in the prayer that Yahusha taught us in Luke 11:2-4. Take some time to read it and get an understanding of its meaning.
As outlined in Matthew 6:5-9, it tells us to not make a show of it. We should not use extensive and long prayers just to hear ourselves and to seem righteous before men. Yahusha instructs us to go in our secret closets and shut our doors and the Father which hears in secret shall reward you openly.
We are to remind Yahuah of His word. As it is written in Isaiah 43:26 “Remind Me, let us enter into judgment, together: relate, that you might be declared right." This is why it is vitally important to know the will and the word of Yahuah, for your life and for that of others, so that we can remind Him of his promises to His people.
Remember, Psalms 24:3-10 says “Who shall ascend into the hill of Yahuah? Or who shall stand in his Holy place? He that has clean hands, and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from Yahuah, and righteousness from the Elohiym of his yeshu`ah (salvation). This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek your face, O Ya`aqov (Jacob), Celah. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lifted up, you everlasting doors; and the King of Glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? Yahuah strong and mighty, Yahuah mighty in battle."
