Yahuah’s Love for His People
Yahuah gave us a perfect example as to how his people are to love. The Hebrew word for love is “Ahavah” and at its most basic level, it means to have affection toward someone. But biblically speaking, love is more than sentiment, it is also action. In the Shema (meaning hear or listen), Israel is supposed to respond to Yahuah’s love by showing love to him in return, We can often believe that in our relationship with him, we do not have to love him back as he has loved us. When we see the “ah” in the Father’s, Son, and in the names of his people, it literally means the breath of the Father within his own name Yahuah, and it is also ironic that we see his breath written in the Hebrew word Ahavah (love).
When we say we have love one for another
There is a word we use in our westernized civilization that comes from the Greek called “agape” love, and this is most times described as a love that comes from the Father, and is unconcerned with our selves (as to what can or have you done for me before I can do for you concept). But this ahavah (agape kind of love) causes us to seek out how we can be of help to someone else, just as it has been shown to us by our Abba Yahuah, through the ahavah for his people Israel, and all those who will journey with them, or grafted into his family through the free-gift of salvation.
This type of love is done without any other motive in mind except to do the will of our Adonai. It is not self-seeking, it does not look for accolades from man, and it is simply displayed because of the ruach that we say lives inside of us. This is why in Yechezq`el (Ezekiel) 11:19 it was necessary for Yahuah to give to his people a new heart, as it reads, “I will put a new ruach within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh: that they will walk in my statues, and guard my ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people and I will be their Alahiym. This is why we can judge Yah’s people, by the fruit that they bear. (Matthew 7:16)
You see, without this transformation, it is almost impossible to have this type of love for our brethren. Without the ruach of Yahuah, Ahavah is difficult for us to sometimes display and/or comprehend. We find it often hard to do good works for people that we do not even know. Also, we love to receive accolades for all the good we do in our societal world. This is what we have been taught. Therefore, it may be difficult for us to do things behind closed doors out of love for Yah’s people without receiving acknowledgement. But with the power of that new heart that Abba (Father) has given to us, it is possible, and not only possible but also very rewarding.
Remember, this is the greatest commandment to love our fellow man as we also love Yahuah; and in our love, we must also forgive, rebuke, reprove, and admonish one another, without feelings of offense and bitterness towards each other. This is exactly what we do for our natural children that Yahuah has given us to nurture and to love.
Ask the Father today, what can you do to better understand His love for us, and the love He expects us to have for one another.
Selah.
